Jaka Stele, ex Microsoft executive, joins Zebra BI as our new COO

By Nasti Susnjara • Last updated

Zebra BI has been growing rapidly and we couldn’t be more excited about our latest addition to the team, Jaka Stele, who joined as the new Chief Operations Officer earlier this year.

Stele will be leading Zebra BI’s sales and marketing operations by working closely with enterprise customers, Zebra BI's partners and the Microsoft community.

“Jaka’s exceptional track record building great teams and strategic partnerships makes him a powerful addition to our team. I couldn’t be more excited for the future of Zebra BI,” said Andrej Lapajne, our founder.

Stele joined Microsoft early in 1994 and after leading its expansion to Eastern Europe, he became a regional leader for 25 countries in the CEE region. After 20 years of his corporate career, he ventured into startup waters, where he contributed to the multimillion-dollar growth of the hardware startup Visionect and served on advisory boards of various tech companies.

"Zebra BI is one of the fastest-growing enterprise SaaS startups in Europe and its Fortune 500 customer list is impressive. It was exciting for me to learn that even Microsoft is using Zebra's visuals for internal reporting! When Andrej asked me to join the company I did not think for long. I'm looking forward to leveraging Zebra's thought leadership in the market, empowering our partners and customers and driving profitable growth for the shareholders," commented Stele.

With the recent Microsoft certification of the Zebra BI visuals, large enterprise customers have accelerated the deployments of analyses, reports and dashboards based on Microsoft Power BI.

Therefore, it is essential for Zebra BI and its leadership to grow the team and strengthen its strategic partnerships with thought-leaders in the data visualization space, like Microsoft, the IBCS Association and other BI/data services companies.
