Principal Analytics Advisor (Power BI, Fabric & AI)
Help shape the future of actionable analytics
At Zebra BI, we believe dashboards alone are no longer enough.
Business teams have the data and the tools. They still don't have fast enough decisions.
That's the gap we solve.
Zebra BI helps organizations turn Power BI, Excel, and AI-driven analytics into decision-ready reporting experiences used by executives, business leaders, and analytics teams across finance, sales, marketing, operations, HR, and beyond.
Our customers include companies like AbbVie, Deloitte, EY, and Nike, and 24% of Fortune 500 companies already use Zebra BI visuals.
We sit at the heart of the Microsoft analytics ecosystem - Power BI, Fabric, Excel, semantic models, and increasingly AI-powered business analysis.
We're now looking for a recognized analytics expert and community leader to become one of the visible faces of Zebra BI in the global Power BI, Fabric, and business analytics ecosystem.
This is not a traditional marketing role. And honestly, it's not really a traditional job opening either.
We're looking for someone who already enjoys teaching, creating YouTube tutorials, speaking, building, sharing ideas, and helping analytics teams work better - and wants a larger platform, stronger reach, more interesting use cases, and deeper influence on the future of analytics.
You keep your voice, your opinions, and your credibility. We provide the platform, reach, support, customers, and opportunity to build something meaningful together.
What you'll do
Become one of the public faces of Zebra BI
- Represent Zebra BI in the global Power BI, Fabric, and business analytics/FP&A communities
- Speak at webinars, conferences, meetups, podcasts, and customer events
- Help shape the conversation around modern analytics, decision intelligence, and AI-driven reporting across sales, finance, marketing, operations, HR, and beyond
- Build credibility and trust with analytics leaders, business teams, and BI professionals worldwide
Own YouTube as your primary content platform
- Be a regular on-camera presence on the Zebra BI YouTube channel: tutorials, walkthroughs, how-tos, and use cases built around real analytics problems across sales, finance, marketing, operations, HR, and more
- Build Power BI and Fabric demos, templates, and walkthroughs that live on YouTube and our website, and that practitioners actually download and use
- Show what good analytics and reporting looks like in practice, not just in theory, and help BI Analysts and business teams close the gap between a working dashboard and a decision-ready report
Educate and inspire customers
- Run onboarding sessions, workshops, and enablement programs for strategic customers
- Help enterprise teams improve reporting quality, dashboard UX, and decision-making practices
- Guide customers on best practices around Power BI, semantic models, KPI design, and analytics storytelling
Help shape thought leadership
- Create and appear in YouTube tutorials, series, and learning paths on a regular cadence
- Host and co-create webinars, podcasts, and educational content
- Help define how AI changes the "last mile" of analytics
Collaborate across Product, Solutions, and Marketing
- Bring customer insights and community feedback directly into product direction
- Influence demo strategy, messaging, templates, and educational content
- Help identify emerging trends and opportunities in the Microsoft data ecosystem
What makes this role unique
You'll have a real platform
Your work will reach thousands of analytics professionals globally through: YouTube, webinars, conferences, Microsoft community events, customer workshops, and enterprise enablement programs.
We actively support: conference speaking, meetup appearances, content creation, personal brand growth, and thought leadership initiatives.
You'll work on meaningful analytics problems
This is not dashboard maintenance work. You'll help solve: executive reporting, FP&A and financial planning, sales, marketing, and revenue analytics, management reporting, AI-assisted analysis, enterprise analytics adoption, and actionable decision-making.
You'll operate at the intersection of BI and AI
You'll help shape how AI transforms business analysis and decision-making — across financial reporting, sales, marketing, operations, HR, and beyond — especially within Microsoft Fabric and modern analytics workflows.
You'll have freedom and influence
We care more about impact than rigid processes. You'll have the autonomy to: experiment with ideas, shape narratives, propose content directions, influence product thinking, and build your reputation in the analytics community.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who already has credibility and passion within the analytics ecosystem.
You likely combine: deep Power BI expertise, consulting or customer-facing experience, strong communication and storytelling skills, business or domain understanding (finance/FP&A, sales, operations, etc.), curiosity about AI and the future of analytics, and community involvement.
Core experience and expertise
Power BI expertise
You've built complex Power BI solutions in real business environments. You likely have strong hands-on experience with: DAX, semantic modeling, Power Query, Power BI Service, performance optimization, financial reporting, and executive dashboards.
You write measures from memory. You've inherited broken models and fixed them. You understand the trade-offs between Import vs DirectQuery, simplicity vs flexibility, and technical purity vs business usability.
Data modeling expertise
You're comfortable with: star schemas, cardinality, role-playing dimensions, bidirectional relationships (and when they become dangerous), and scalable semantic model design.
Power Query and data shaping
You don't just click through the UI. You're comfortable writing M code directly, connecting APIs, shaping messy datasets, and building reliable reporting pipelines.
Business analytics and reporting understanding
You understand reporting from a business perspective — not just technically. You've likely worked with: sales pipelines, revenue reporting, or commercial analytics; budget vs actual, variance analysis, or operational metrics; HR, marketing, or operations analytics; management reporting packs; KPI frameworks; and executive reporting workflows.
You probably have strong opinions about why most Power BI reports fail business teams — and what better decision-ready reporting should look like.
Communication and presentation skills
You genuinely enjoy explaining complex concepts simply. You're comfortable on camera for YouTube (regularly and on a consistent schedule), presenting live, teaching workshops, engaging with business audiences, and simplifying technical topics without oversimplifying them.
Nice to have
- Microsoft MVP status or recognized community involvement
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Experience with AI-driven analytics, Claude Code or Copilot workflows
- Familiarity with IBCS (International Business Communication Standards)
- An active YouTube channel or demonstrated track record of creating video content on a regular cadence
- Previous consulting or advisory experience with enterprise customers
- Experience creating educational or technical content
