Two Powerful Additions to Zebra AI: SQL Connector & Zebra BI Tables
You're about to get even more out of your data. With the latest updates to Zebra AI, we’re introducing two highly anticipated features designed to give you faster insights, clearer visuals, and easier access to your data: Zebra BI Tables inside Zebra AI and the all-new SQL Connector.
🎯 Zebra BI Tables inside Zebra AI
Say goodbye to overcrowded charts. With Zebra BI Tables now embedded in Zebra AI, you can seamlessly switch from vertical bar charts to structured, interactive tables. The existing vertical-axis charts were automatically replaced with Zebra BI Tables.
This was one of the most requested features for Zebra AI from our existing users who already know and love Zebra BI Tables. If you’re new, we’re sure you’re going to love them too 😊
Why it matters
Many of our users asked: "Can we get the Zebra BI Table experience inside Zebra AI?" Now, the answer is yes. This update closes a major feature gap and brings the signature Zebra BI table-first logic to every AI data story.
It’s everything you need for month-end analysis, SKU performance reviews, and more, without switching tools.
Until now, data stories within Zebra AI have relied on vertical charts, even for large categorical datasets. That quickly resulted in unreadable charts with (too) many categories and an increasing need for an actionable visualization like Zebra BI Tables offer.
It’s simple, fast, and intuitive.
Out-of-the-box advanced features of Zebra BI Tables
- Automatic tables: Zebra AI will automatically visualize data with Zebra BI Tables when the data refers to textual or any other non-temporal dimensions. The latter will be visualized with Zebra BI Charts.
- Interactive Top N + Others lets you focus on what really matters
- Custom sorting to adjust the view to your preference
- Quick column calculations perfect for instant displays of % share, YoY, variances, etc.
- Row-level calculations for managing invert, result, and skip.
- Support for multiple measures in columns
- Filtering & cross-filtering where tables are automatically fully connected with other visuals & slicers in your data story.
- Export-ready: with one click you can export the report to Excel or PowerPoint and have the same Zebra BI Tables available there.
Already familiar with Zebra BI Tables?
Then you know the true power of the world’s fastest matrix visual, and you’ll feel right at home with it inside Zebra AI. Everything you know about Zebra BI Tables from Power BI or Office, you can apply to the new platform.
No learning curve, immediate value, and minimal effort.
New to Zebra BI Tables?
If you haven’t used Zebra BI Tables before, you will quickly get to know their added value.
Zebra BI Tables is the most powerful matrix visual on the market and it brings a new way to analyze your data inside Zebra AI.
You will switch from overcrowded charts for any non-temporal dimension to clean, interactive tables that handle the heavy work for you and let you focus on the business.
The easy-to-read structure combines table with charts for instant clarity on your top trends and variances without manual work. Advanced features like built-in variance calculations, scenario comparisons, formula editor, customization options, filtering & cross-filtering, custom sorting, and more, let you get the most value out of your data with minimal effort.
Zebra BI Tables was built for practical and actionable insights in finance, sales, and operations teams where they need to analyze performance and answer the right questions fast.
Now that same power is built directly into Zebra AI. Whether you’re exploring sales performance, budget deviations, or operational metrics, you get the clarity of a table combined with the interactivity of a modern BI tool.
Designed for
Controllers & FP&A teams: Analyze cost overruns and trends with precision.
Sales analysts: Rank SKUs or clients using Top N logic and highlight underperformance.
BI users: Finally, tables in Zebra AI work just like in Power BI.
Your favorite Zebra BI Tables, now in Zebra AI. No rebuilds. Just better decisions, faster.
🚀 Live SQL Connections: Meet the SQL Connector
Spending too much time exporting spreadsheets or manually refreshing dashboards? The new SQL Connector eliminates that. Zebra AI now connects directly to your Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases so you can analyze live data with zero hassle.
What it solves?
Until now, Zebra AI supported Power BI link and spreadsheet uploads. Data had to be refreshed manually via file swaps or re-connections to Power BI. This led to slow and error-prone data updates and limited adoption possibilities. Additionally, for teams managing high-volume, real-time data in SQL databases, that wasn't enough.
The SQL connector brings AI-powered analysis to where your data actually lives.
What you can do:
- Connect directly to Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
- Select tables, columns, and measures via a visual schema browser
- Use raw SQL queries for advanced data logic (via the manual editor)
- Auto-refresh your story every time you create a new analysis
Designed for:
BI & DataOps teams: Eliminate repetitive exports and access fresh operational data on demand.
Finance analysts: Automatically pull in monthly financials and create variance reports without ever touching a spreadsheet.
Sales operations: Plug into CRM or ERP backends and get live, AI-driven insights in seconds.
Connect once, analyze forever. Your AI workspace now speaks SQL—so you can focus on insights, not imports.
What's next?
Together with the recently launched data cleaning agent these updates turn Zebra AI into a must-have asset for every team that wants to get the most out of their data.
And these are just the first steps. We’re already working on getting even more functionalities of Zebra BI Tables inside Zebra AI and extending SQL support to other databases like Snowflake and BigQuery. If you want to influence what we build next, keep an eye out for new “Coming Soon” tiles inside Zebra AI.
